The 2017 Sac De Jour Bags: Duffles and Totes!
You haven’t heard the last of the Sac De Jours. Now there’s something wide, and something deep.
So some months ago, we were graced by the presence of what is known as the Supple (or Souple) Sac De Jours. It was an okay update for a bag that’s been around for quite a while.
You must be all too familiar with the men’s SDJs too, having recently gained a medium sized supple version. Subsequently, the more classic SDJs are seemingly in low stocks (at least with the stores I visit) in lieu of the more recent, studfest supple Sac De Jour.
It may have been considered as a small update. But get a hold of the innovations, available for pre-order and can be delivered by late August 2017.
Large Sac De Jour Souple 48H Duffle Bag In Grained Leather
It’s a wide, 19.5″ inches wide, (almost 50 cm) bag that serves as a duffle for your luxurious gym needs, or fabulous flights. It’s a wide version Sac De Jour, that closes with a zipper instead of the usual open mouth.
There are no middle compartments, but instead you get a nice wide zippered pocket at the bag. It’s a really spacious bag, and with it’s leather exterior and interior, it wouldn’t be surprising that this bag is heavy by itself, and heavier stuffed with stuff! Your favorite accordion style is still there too, because what’s an SDJ if it doesn’t have an accordion side?
The sling now clasps to the sides of the bag, instead of behind the handles. And because it’s the supple bag, you can expect it to bend in the middle when carried by the sling. What an exceptionally beautiful bag!
Sac De Jour Souple North/South Tote In Black Grained Leather
It doesn’t stop there. If the 48H bag is too big for you, and you’re a day bag person, consider the North/South Tote, which comes in beautiful grained leather, or croc embossed leather.
Like the 48H Duffle, it also closes with a zipper at the top. With all the elements of the Sac De Jour, only deeper downwards.
Leather lined beautifully. And just like the 48H Duffle, it also positions the sling clasps directly on each side. It featurs a zippered pocket and a slip pocket on the back and front interior panels. And since there’s no middle compartment like the classic SDJs, you have a simpler accordion gusset.
These North/South totes don’t come with a middle compartment, unlike the classic SDJs that come with a partition in the middle that you can pop off. However, it was always a plus to have a pouch laying around somewhere to transition from day to night. This tote is definitely a day bag, with no “freebie” bag that you can pop off for a smaller bag to tow.
These are so lovely. So far the available styles are all in black, and predominantly in grained leather. We’re lucky to see the croc embossed North/South Totes. Hopefully as we move towards the end of the year, we can have more colorways and croc embossing goodness.
