Louis Vuitton Silently Updated The Speedy

New Speedy

My love with bags started with the Speedy. I carry one till this day. I call it my good ol’ reliable. So it’s such a nice thing to hear – like hearing again from an old fried after a long time – that there’s something new!

I don’t think I need any form of introduction, so let’s go ahead and compare the old and new ones!

It’s not a radical change, but when I saw this in person on my friend’s 35 Damier Azur, it was beautiful. The usual leather stitched into the body is flufflier than the usual older versions, where you have a flat piece of leather stitched into the canvas body.

This doesn’t just apply to the Speedy alone. I’ve seen Bandouliere versions with the updated stitching too. There’s also the Epi Speedy, which isn’t as popular but far more luxurious, seems to have gone off the place of the planet. But the Idylle, and all kinds of canvas are all updated to follow the same stitching updates this 2015. Even the limited edition ones.

In earlier years, they’ve been doing the same to the Alma bags, but I never caught wind of it. I love the Alma though, but the Epi leather choices are dwindling!

The only ones unaffected are the Impreinte versions and multi-color versions, which have a totally different style when it comes to handles. I like minute changes. It drives fans like me to the stores to get the newest ones! So, let’s go shopping???

[UPDATE] Upon further inspection in the Louis Vuitton website and stores, seems anything with a similar diamond-esque handles have been updated: Speedys, Almas, Sac Plats, they all get the updated redesigned stitching. So if you’re buying diamond shaped handles, get the new stocks showing the updated stitching! 🙂
